Ok, not really Jazz Camp or Band Camp, but it sure felt like it! A huge thanks to Kim Richmond and Kimberly Ford who successfully completed their second annual Santa Barbara Jazz Workshop on July 8-11. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to reconnect with my bari sax chops and push myself in my solo work. Also a great opportunity for some awesome jam time with Xander Trimis (bass) and Nonda Trimis (vibes/percussion/drum set). We had jazz theory/improv workshops, combo and big band rehearsals. There were nightly jam sessions at a local brewery and a wonderful closing night concert at SOJO in Santa Barbara.
